Trump and DeSantis to Join Full Lineup of GOP Presidential Candidates at Iowa Republican Party’s Lincoln Dinner

Most of the GOP presidential candidates have committed to attending next month’s Republican Party of Iowa’s Lincoln Dinner, including former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

The annual fundraiser, scheduled for July 28, is a must-attend event for those vying for the Republican Party nomination in the first-in-the-nation caucus state.

Guests will have the opportunity to hear remarks from and mingle with Iowa GOP Chairman Jeff Kaufmann, the Hawkeye State’s entire congressional delegation, statewide officials, and a roster of the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential candidates.

“This year’s Lincoln Dinner will be an exciting opportunity to hear from the GOP’s potential champions to take on Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election and celebrate Iowa’s First-in-the-Nation Caucus!” the state party declares.

Confirmed candidates scheduled to speak include:

  • Former President Donald J. Trump
  • Florida Governor Ron DeSantis
  • Former Vice President Mike Pence
  • Former South Carolina Governor and Ambassador Nikki Haley
  • U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC)
  • Ohio Businessman and anti-woke crusader Vivek Ramaswamy
  • Former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson
  • Conservative Radio Talk Show Host Larry Elder
  • Michigan businessman Perry Johnson

The event occurs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.

Trump Continues to Rise

Another indictment doesn’t seem to be hurting Trump any in the polls.

A Morning Consult poll released Tuesday finds the former president with 59 percent support among Republican primary voters. That’s a slight increase from the same poll taken last week before the indictment when 55 percent of Republican voters who responded backed Trump.

Meanwhile, 19 percent surveyed supported DeSantis, Trump’s closest competitor in the field.

A new FiveThirtyEight polling average shows Trump at nearly 54 percent, a slight uptick from pre-indictment numbers.
